Michael Thayer works as a Branch Manager for Waterstone Mortgage Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Waterstone Bank, SSB. Michael takes great pride with his consultative approach to mortgage lending, coupled with world class service and an ‘always do the right thing’ approach.
Michael understands the magnitude and the stress that the mortgage process can create for a respective home buyer and/or seller. With over 90% of his business being purchase oriented mortgages, Michael is an expert with closing your loan on time and with the least amount of stress possible. By providing a simple ‘paint by the numbers’ plan, customized to eery individual client, is how Michael guides his clients through the mortgage process. All while mitigating the stress for all parties involved with the transaction.
Michael started his mortgage career in 2003 by building a well-versed understanding for the mortgage industry combined with in-depth product knowledge. He also teaches continuing education courses to real estate professionals throughout the greater Nashville Area. Michael is a local radio show host in Nashville on WLAC 1510 that discusses all things real estate. He is also a guest speaker on other real estate / mortgage radio shows in other major cities throughout the US. During his mortgage career, Michael has been awarded the top loan officer during several different months, rookie of the year, and loan officer of the year.
In addition, Michael and his wife, Tammie, live in Nashville with their two children. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, watching college and professional football, and cheering for the Boston Red Sox!
